Studied painting at Art Academy of Latvia (master degree) and performed additional studies at the University of Porto (Universidade do Porto). Has had more than 10 solo exhibitions. Took part in group exhibitions in France, Germany, Ukraine and Belgium. Won Brederlo-von Sengbusch art prize 2008. and also 2010. Zanes paintings are to be found in private collections in Germany, England, Ukraine, Norway, Ireland, Russia, Kazakhstan and Belgium.
